Trafford Safeguarding Adults Board (TSAB) is a partnership of agencies and organisations working together to safeguard adults and families who are at risk of or are experiencing abuse and neglect.

The Board has a statutory responsibility under the Care Act 2014 for leading the strategic and operational safeguarding arrangements across Trafford. The board is also required to assure itself that organisations and agencies are working individually and collectively to safeguard adults at risk of  abuse and neglect and ensuring their wellbeing and interests are central to any support.

TSAB was formerly part of a joint childrens and adults safeguarding partnership. In February 2024, a decision was made to create new governance arrangements with a dedicated focus on the different but interrelated safeguarding needs of children and adults in Trafford.  Throughout 2024-25 agencies across Trafford have worked together to shape and create the Trafford Safeguarding Adults Board (TSAB) which met for the first time under the new arrangements in March 2025.

Independent Chair

  • promoting an open and collaborative learning culture between board members to ensure that learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews are embedded into practice.
  • ensuring that the voices of people who need care and support and their families, are heard and acted upon within the Board’s work and that the principles of ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’ are embedded in the work of the board.
